Why & How the WLCC was Formed
The World Lin Chamber of Commerce (WLCC) was formed in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 1st May 2011.
The idea of forming the World Lin Chamber of Commerce (WLCC) as a body was first approved by the Pro-tem Governing Council, from 10 countries, at their first meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 1st May 2011. They unanimously agreed to register WLCC in Singapore, as a society. Application for registration of WLCC was made to the Registry of Societies (ROS) in Singapore. After the Constitution of WLCC was approved by the Registrar of ROS, WLCC’s registration was finally approved and registered as a society with registration No. T12SS0082J. WLCC is the first surname chamber that is registered in the world.
The Main Purposes of the WLCC HQ are:
a. To unite the ethnic Chinese, from all over the world, with the surname Lin.
b. To promote loyalty to the "Lin" Grand Ancestor (Bigan) through the united solidarity of Lin Clans around the world.
c. To promote the development of industry, commerce and economic prosperity, cultural and educational activities as well as the community services of members of Lin Clans.
WLCC is therefore an International Commercial Exchange and Heritage Link Platform. With this global non-profit platform, our Lin Entrepreneurs or clansmen can engage in commercial, trade and industry exchanges to expand their businesses, all over the world. They can also make use of this platform to promote their businesses through WLCC IT Solutions, Website, Exhibitions, Business Exchange Programmes and other forms of linkages and networks.
Through WLCC it is hoped that WLCC can empower and strengthen the world’s 80 million Lin clansmen to create and grow business opportunities, all over the world. Therefore, WLCC wishes to reach out to as many Lin Clans as possible through the setting up of Lin Chambers of Commerce in the respective countries to be associate members of WLCC.
The WLCC, while registered in Singapore, is however established to enable 100% of Council Members from different countries, to sit on the Board. We had already set-up the Lin Chamber of Commerce Singapore (WLCC Singapore) on 17th January 2013 and the Malaysia Lin Chamber of Commerce (WLCC Malaysia) on 27th December 2013. We are in the process of establishing 25 Lin Chambers of Commerce in other Countries/China Provinces by the year 2017.
By 2017 we should have a total of 50 Lin Chambers of Commerce in the Countries, Province and States all over the world.
The Handbook on WLCC Guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for setting up chambers, in each country, will be ready for distribution by 18th May 2014.
After the Installation Ceremony, the respective Country, Province, County or State will set up their Chambers and they will be installed in their respective countries or regions.
